Who we’ve helped
With other 20 years of experience delivering marketing for charities, our forward-thinking mindset sets up charities for the long term. We find solutions to improve the efficiency of your internal processes and create strategic campaigns to help you achieve your goals and deliver a return on investment.

What problems are you facing?

01

Need a website that does it all?

Websites for charities often need to be multi-faceted. The content needs to speak to a variety of different people and groups, and conversions can mean anything from a donation, subscription, sponsorship enquiries or ticket sales. Our websites are tailor-made for your needs, delivering a seamless user journey from discovery to conversion.

02

Struggling to spend your Google Ad Grant?

Google gives charities approximately £7,500 per month in Google Ad Credits. The problem is often that this budget isn’t used to it’s full potential. We can help you get the most out of your free search ads with strategic targeting that doesn’t just burn through your grant, but gets you results you weren’t seeing before.

03

Internal comms causing headaches?

We specialise in building bespoke multi-user intranet systems for charities that help you improve internal communication, and share news and resources across multiple locations. Got a more unique requirement? Don’t worry, our systems are built to answer your specific problems.

YMCA

YMCA was looking for an intuitive internal platform to improve internal communication across the federation of 83 independent YMCAs throughout England and Wales.

To answer this challenge, as experts in marketing and intranet for charities, we created Y-Hub. This brand new digital platform encompasses a complete directory, news, events, chat, resource and brand centres. We even incorporated a competitive daily quiz.

Y-Hub allows over 10,000 staff, volunteers and trustees to come together on one platform to communicate, collaborate and share resources. Y-Hub is accessible through a browser, as a desktop, tablet or mobile app because we custom-designed it as a progressive web app.

The ExtraCare Charitable Trust

20 years ago, Harrison Carloss became the marketing partner for ExtraCare, a leader in the retirement village field, engaged to launch the charity’s very first retirement village.

Before social media was invented, we were taking a radical ‘social’ stance instead of a conventional property marketing approach. This engaged potential customers early on with an inspirational proposition that focused on independent, healthy and active lifestyle benefits, rather than bricks and mortar.

Over 75% of properties were sold off-plan before the official village opening.

Dougie Mac

Continuing to leverage our charity sector experience, we were thrilled to work with the incredible Dougie Mac, a charity that is a huge part of our local community. Since 1973, the Dougie Mac charity has been providing hospice services to over 35,000 people with life-limiting illnesses.

Dougie Mac’s online presence is a vital lifeline that relies heavily on increasing donations and fundraising, and appeal to a huge range of stakeholders. We had to consider potential patients and their families to fundraisers, supporters and job seekers.

As a charity marketing agency, the Harrison Carloss solution was to consolidate the charity’s multiple websites into a single hub for everything Dougie Mac, making driving traffic to a single place even easier. To make donating as simple as possible, we ensured Apple Pay was enabled along with other modern payment methods.

01 YMCA

Harrison Carloss are an extremely talented and committed group of individuals, with a real passion for delivering for their client. They were dedicated to each step of our project, thinking about how it would be received, and how it could be developed to become even better. They care, and that makes all the difference to an organisation like YMCA.

Jerahl Hall, Senior Communications Manager, YMCA

02 AEDdonate

Right from the beginning when we made contact with you guys at Harrison Carloss, we can’t fault a thing. What used to be the biggest bane of our lives, is now something that is just joyful to log on to and do now, so 100% recommend for me, and thank you to all of the team for everything that you’ve done.

Jamie Richards, Chief Executive Officer, AEDdonate

03 Dougie Mac

Their enthusiasm is contagious! Harrison Carloss’s innovation and creativity are like a breath of fresh air. We have great faith that whatever we ask for (within reason) is achievable with them – highly recommend.

Brogan Griffiths, Head of Marketing & Communications, Dougie Mac

04 Re-Form Heritage

This new platform will be invaluable in allowing us to better connect with our community, showcasing the beauty and history of Middleport Pottery, and highlighting the importance of preserving our local heritage for future generations.

I have worked with the Agency for over 20 years, and they made a real difference to my work and helped propel the organisation to be a market leader.

FAQS

What makes charity marketing different from other sectors?

Charities often need to speak to a much wider range of stakeholders, from beneficiaries and families to donors, volunteers and job seekers, all through one platform or campaign. We understand how to balance these audiences without diluting your message.

How long have you worked with charities?

Over 20 years. We’ve built long-standing relationships with organisations like ExtraCare, YMCA England & Wales and Dougie Mac, and understand the unique pressures charities face when balancing multiple stakeholders and limited resources.

Do you offer discounted rates for charities?

We understand charity budgets are often tight and every project is scoped around what you’re trying to achieve. Get in touch and we can talk through what’s realistic for your budget.

How do you help charities increase donations online?

We focus on making the donation journey as simple as possible, from consolidating scattered web presences into a single hub to enabling modern payment methods like Apple Pay to reduce friction at the point of giving.

Can you help improve internal communication across our organisation?

Yes. We’ve built bespoke intranet solutions for charities, including Y-Hub for YMCA, which connects over 10,000 staff, volunteers and trustees across a federation of 83 independent YMCAs.

What kind of marketing support do charities typically need?

This varies by organisation, but commonly includes website design and development, campaign design and management, marketing strategy, digital and print literature and internal communication tools like intranets. We’ll work with you to identify where you need support most.

Can you help us make the most of our Google Ad Grant?

Absolutely! Most charities come to us because they can’t spend their full Ad Grant budget. We help improve targeting and strategy so your free search ads get more visibility and drive more traffic to your website.

Do you only work with large charities?

Not at all. We work with charities of all shapes and sizes, from local organisations to national federations. What matters most to us is the cause, and we tailor our approach to fit your budget and objectives.
