Dougie Mac have been caring for the community since 1973. Providing hospice services to over 35,000 local people with life-limiting illnesses in Stoke-on-Trent, North Staffordshire and surrounding areas.

In March 2021, Dougie Mac amalgamated with local children’s hospice, The Donna Louise Trust. This effectively expanded their offering to allow essential care for even more people.

Their lifeline

Dougie Mac’s services rely heavily on donations and fundraising and they looked to make the most of their online presence to not only increase donations but to help convey important information about the hospice.

From a commercial perspective, their websites were lacking modern capabilities that help to make donating even easier, such as enabling Apple Pay and other payment methods.

Time to consolidate

They had multiple websites and wanted to create a sole hub for everything related to Dougie Mac, making driving traffic to a single place even easier.

While a good portion of their traffic came from mobile devices, their website was not mobile responsive and therefore created a huge barrier for users on their phone.

One key challenge with the Dougie Mac website was that it had to appeal to a huge range of stakeholders – from potential patients and their families to fundraisers, supporters and job seekers. The addition of The Donna Louise Trust only added further complications to their messaging.

Their enthusiasm is contagious! Harrison Carloss’ innovation and creativity is like a breath of fresh air. We have great faith that whatever we ask for (within reason) is achievable with them – highly recommend.
