It wasn’t quite what I thought.
After completing a design degree at Plymouth University focusing on branding & identity, editorial & publishing and information graphics, I was unsure which direction to go in, and thought of getting into marketing.
Real world marketing turned out to be not what I’d imagined and didn’t actually involve selling fruit and veg from a barrow in the market shouting ‘get yer loverly ripe bananas ‘ere’. Pity; that would have been fun.
Anyway after learning the ins and outs of what it really takes to become a good marketer, I switched up my role within the business to working alongside an array of accounts. Finding that I enjoyed working within both areas, I wanted to combine the two, which brought me to this role at Harrison Carloss.
I am 100% an experience person and enjoy trying something completely new like scuba diving, or horseback riding through the Tuscan countryside. I also love to travel and soak up the culture of strange and exciting new places – like Stoke – where I can sample exotic foods. (I once tried a scorpion and crickets in Thailand, but they had nothing on the bacon, cheese and black pudding oatcake I had in Hanley.)
