The Healthy House

About

Established in 1991 as a small family business, The Healthy House is now the UK’s premier online store that specialises in allergy and health related products. Its core product range covers air and water purifiers, bedding, cleaning products and more. Central to the company’s ethos is a deep concern for helping people enjoy a healthy, happy and comfortable lifestyle.

The Healthy House is passionate about encouraging people to use untreated and natural materials whenever possible, and to become more aware of the chemicals that are now used in everyday products, from cleaning products and toiletries to home furnishings. The business saw that more and more people are now aware of their lifestyle and the choices that they make to contribute to a healthier life and therefore they could now appeal to a wider audience.

Project

The business was hampered in its mission by their website, which was outdated, unreliable and short on modern website functionality. The website was built on Magento 1 which was coming to end of life and they needed a new site, after a review, it was recommended that the Magento platform wasn’t required for The Healthy House and WooCommerce would be the most suitable platform whilst allowing additional integrations to make the operational side of the business smoother and more efficient.

In terms of style and appearance, it lacked the necessary visual elements that would reflect the aspirations of a rapidly growing number of increasingly health conscious consumers. Put simply, for a company trading entirely online, it needed bringing right up to date both in its look and its functionality. To compliment the new website we set about refreshing the brand including the logo and colour palette which was vibrant, fresh, clean to be reflective of the nature of the products The Healthy House sell and their quest in providing people with a healthier lifestyle.

Results

Following the brand refresh, we then designed and created a distinctively modern new website, which has now totally transformed the brand’s online persona and beautifully showcases The Healthy House’s full range of products.

The new website not only improves The Healthy House customer experience, offering information that helps people who suffer from allergies, it also gives The Healthy House’s full range of products a simple, clean and stylish eCommerce environment that perfectly reflects the company’s ethos.

As part of the WooCommerce site we also integrated Stripe and PayPal as the preferred payment gateways. It introduces a cleaner way to shop as well as including additional payment options to appeal to a wider audience including Google Pay and Apple Pay.

We also integrated into DPD and Royal Mail to allow for efficient business processes with regards to shipping. And finally, the website also integrates into Sage for a total end to end order and stock management process.

As a result, since launch, we’ve seen conversion rates increase dramatically, with Black Friday weekend alone seeing their sales increase over 5 times by comparison with Black Friday last year.
